There are drawing shapes in chapter number 11. Three types of shapes exists: Clipping Mask, Path Shape and Fill Shape. Clipping Mask - is a shape that acts like a cookie cutter. Path Shape - is like the paths created with the pen tool. Fill Shape - is created with pixels. Paths are lines and curves that make up the outlines of vector graphics. If you created a shape layer, you will see two thumbnails. Left one is fill layer, the other is vector mask.

Chapter 9 & 10: Text
The content of these slides tells us about the text. First of all type elements in Photoshop is made with vectors which consist of lines and points. Using option bar we can set different settings for text. There are 2 ways to create a text: Click&Drag and Click&Type. You can change the attributes of the text, such as, the size of letters. To make the text as pixel, you should rasterize it, you cannot change it after razterization. Type mask is a selection in the shape of type that can be filled. Adjusting the space between letters is called kerning. The overall letterspacing of words or strings of words
is called tracking. The overall spacing between lines in a paragraph is
called leading.
Chapter 8: Filters
Filters were made to add the special effects to the image. There is a big variety of the filters and the settings for them. In this chapter we found out how to select the filter, also we can combine filters. Liquify filters allows you to push the pixels. The freezing mask saves the highlighted area from distortion.
Chapter 6 & 7: Working with Layers and Layer Styles
In these chapters we've covered layer and layer styles. First of all we use layer to create composite and more complex images which can correct color, add some effects, repair photos etc. You can control layers using blending options, stacking options and order of layers. We've learned the types of layers and the layers palette. Merging combines 2 or more layers, Flattening combines all images in one!
Chapter 3: Painting and Drawing with Colour
So, in chapter we've learned everything about the
brushes palette. About some settings in there. The Brushes palette contains an
unlimited number of options and settings to create and customize
brushes.Painting tools include: brush tool, pencil tool, history brush &
art history brush, color replacement tool. With that tools we can edit the
image. Gradients is a smooth transition between selected colours. We've learned
about the 5 types of gradients.
And about the
Eraser and its functions:
- Background layer – paints with the background color
- Normal layer – erases all data, making that area transparent
- Erase to History – restores data from a previous version of the image
Chapter 4 & 5: Making and Manipulating Selections
Chapter 4 & 5 covers everything about the selection tools. Selection tools are made to select wanted area. There are 4 types of Marquee tools: Rectangular, Eliptical, Single Row and Single Row. Selected area is outlined with the "marching ants". Using shortkeys u can add, substract, inverse, deselect and hide the marching ants. You can soft the edges using feathering. The other type of selection is lasso tool which consists of polygonal, magnetic and freehand tracing Lasso tools. You can also change, rotate, skew/distort the selection. In Photoshop CS 4 you can save the selected area by clicking at alpha channel and saving it.
Chapter 2: Viewing and Managing Documents
Chapter 2 was about difference between color modes: RGB, CMYK and PANTONE.
RGB stands for Red, Green and Blue, used for computer monitors etc.
CMYK stands for Cyan, Magenta, Yellow and Black, used for printing purposes.
PANTONE used for fabric or producing factories.
Also we have learned that we can undo any using the history palette. This chapter showed us how to change the size of the image. That on screen size differs from print size.
Chapter 1: A Quick Tour of Adobe Photoshop
The first chapter is about the simple and basic things, such as open a new photoshop document, save a document in a different formats, how to work with interface of Photoshop. Understanding of tool box what every buttons name. Also we learned how to zoom in and zoom out and some shortkeys.
